Stockbridge Town of Culture 2020
During 2020 special events will celebrate the rich cultural scene that exists in the Test Valley area. The initiative aims to help artists and organisations reach new audiences, and create new opportunities for people to engage with the arts. Stockbridge already has a reputation as a flourishing centre for arts activities but this year a number of additional events are being organised. This includes talks on jewellery, ballet and furniture making, ‘Have a go …’ activities in which anyone can participate (e.g. drama, drawing, painting, and writing), and special film events with a local theme.

Stockbridge Town Hall
The Town Hall lies in the heart of Stockbridge, a former market town in Hampshire’s Test Valley. The wide and attractive High Street has free parking. This draws in many who come to enjoy a walk, a snack and a browse among the shops. This is an ideal site for functions or for sales activity.

SADS (Stockbridge Amateur Dramatic Society)
We are a small, but ambitious, amateur drama society serving the Hampshire market town of Stockbridge and nearby villages.
We usually do two or three main performances a year, including an outdoor production in July which has become a popular feature of the Stockbridge calendar.
We have informal “Curtain Call” meetings on the first Tuesday of every month from October through to April in Stockbridge Town Hall at 7:30, where members get a chance to read and perform even if they don’t want to appear in a main production. Anyone is welcome to come to these meetings (you don’t have to be a member) to watch, learn more about SADS and possibly perform!

Stockbridge Music brings high quality classical music to Stockbridge at affordable prices. whether performed by professional musicians, top quality students seeking opportunities to perform in public, or local musicians keen on furthering their careers. Our concerts take place in the recently restored Stockbridge Town Hall, or the historic St Peter’s Church. Stockbridge.
Stockbridge Community Cinema
We aim to encourage and support the appreciation and understanding of film by providing screenings of quality films for the local community.
Our programme offers a wide range of films, both mainstream as well as alternative content and specialist films. At our Wednesday Film Nights we screen the more popular drama or comedy films while for our Film Night Extra events we show ‘art-house’, foreign language, documentary films, recorded arts events or films with adult themes.
Films are shown at Stockbridge Town Hall, High Street SO20 6HE twice monthly during most of the year. All tickets cost £5.00. You are strongly advised to purchase them in advance from John Robinson (Butchers), Garden Inn in Stockbridge or online via our website.
